These are specialty vendors.

Less EMF

“One stop for all your EMF Measuring and Shielding Needs.”

While you can get meters and detectors here (plus lots of other EMF-related stuff), this is my source for flexible, metal mesh fabrics that I use with self-adhesive foam to make soft switches (i.e., you press down on the foam to bring two mesh areas into contact).

Scenic Express

“Since 1993, Scenic Express has taken great pride in bringing the latest, most innovative scenery products to the modeling industry the world has ever known!”

These folks carry all sorts of teeny, tiny stuff for making scenery for gaming, railroads, and so on. They seem to focus more on foliage than Plastruct does.

Plastruct

InLine Ovals

“Inline Ovals is a world leader in the manufacture and wholesale supply of oval picture frames, round picture frames, convex glass, shadowboxes, and other specialty picture framing products.”

They can also bend convex glass to fit existing portraits and/or frames. Between about 1800 and 1920, there was a popular process in which a wet photograph was molded to a piece of convex glass, evidently to give it a sense of additional visual dimensionality.

Sugru

“Instead of buying new stuff all the time, we at Sugru believe in using our imagination to fix, improve and reimagine the things we already have. If we can double the life of our stuff, we’ll halve what goes to landfill.”

Sugru is a soft, moldable glue (in a variety of colors) that toughens up as it cures into a flexible, silicone rubber. It comes in little packets that you should put in the freezer to triple its shelf life, because if you don’t use it by its expiry date you can end up with a bunch of tough rubber pillows (which is said from experience).

Polytek

“We are a leading manufacturer of versatile, specialty polymers for mold making, casting and coating applications.”

Polytek carries all manner of epoxies, plus metallic powders.
