I have a son who really likes orange juice (or at least, I think he does), but the dose of vitamin C can wreak substantial havoc with his health. It is a fraught relationship about which he is very responsible, and which he handles with impressive equanimity. The conflict is certainly worth recognizing on an album that was originally devoted to orangeness.
In this case, I fed Suno with a segment of orange noise and a noodled tunicle designed to have a heroic vibe.
Contrary to my customary methods, this time I started out specifying structural elements without other lyrics (i.e., only the metatags), tinkering until the music conveyed the emotional tone that I was waiting for… bombastic and emotionally intense, with plaintive passages.
After nurturing that music into the desired shape, I went back and added the minimalist lyrics into those structures… which of course triggered substantial rounds of new trials.
I’m pretty pleased with the result.
